Award seasons are to Hollywood celebrities what shaadi season is to us Pakistani women. No matter how sick, angry, ugly or fat you may look or feel — you’ve still got to put your best ‘dress’ forward. With thousands of cameras clicking at their every pose and fashion police judging their every accessory, pleat and ruffle like an evil mother-in-law, it’s hard not to feel bad for these women. But then again, if we got paid that much, we wouldn’t mind dolling it up to sit next to Brad Pitt very now and then.
Since the award season has just concluded, we decided to tally up the scores for the best and worst dressed this season.
Best Dressed
MARIA MENOUNOS
Menounos showed Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Lopez that you don’t have to take out the twin sistas or the long gams to get some attention at the Oscars, all you need is a really good dress.
SOFIA VERGARA
I think women might be shooting Vergara daggers throughout the entire Golden Globes ceremony as she looked good enough to stab.
PENELOPE CRUZ
There are a billion shades of red, and Cruz has the most magical one picked out for the Baftas.
TAYLOR SWIFT
If Beyonce thought she could do gold like no other, pale beauty Taylor Swift at the Grammy’s just proved her wrong.
Worst Dressed
SARAH MICHELLE GELLAR
Her daughter picked out this dress for the Golden Globes. Enough said!
HELENA BONHAN CARTER
Carter has been on the worst dressed list so many times that at the Baftas, she looked like she stopped caring altogether.
FERGIE
Yes, granny pants are sometimes integral for wearing a tight dress but don’t let them do all the shining especially at the Grammys.
SANDRA BULLOCK
Ill-fitting, ugly, unappealing, are words that come to mind for Sandra Bullock’s dress
