Misappropriation inquiry: ACE seizes Pension Branch record

ACE possesses of record of local government’s pension branch to investigate alleged misappropriation of Rs25 million.

FAISALABAD: The Anti Corruption Establishment (ACE) has possession of the record of local government’s pension branch to investigate alleged misappropriation of Rs25 million. Head clerk Riaz Ahmad, his son Husain and a junior clerk Iftikhar have been taken into custody for interrogation. Head clerk Ahmed is accused of embezzling the amount in collusion with the other two accomplices and two bank officials. The amount was to be used to pay overdue pensions of 25 deceased employees. The ACE also took bank record into custody. The EDO (Finance and Planning) has been asked for his assistance in the matter. An FIR had been registered in the matter after an inquiry confirmed that the amount had been embezzled.
