KARACHI: Some Baloch residents of Lyari have announced they are joining the nationalist Sindh United Party (SUP) of Jalal Mehmood Shah. On Tuesday, more than fifty people led by Haji Younus Baloch, who had contested the election against Benazir Bhutto in Lyari in 1988, reached Hyder Manzil, the residence of the late Sindhi nationalist GM Syed and joined his grandson’s party.  Later, talking to the media, Younus Baloch said the Pakistan Peoples Party had left Lyari at the mercy of gangsters after taking its people’s votes. He said no development work had been done there and the money for the Lyari Development Package was being misappropriated by elected representatives as well as government officials.
