FAISALABAD: A proclaimed offender was killed by Thikri Wala police in what they claim was a shootout past midnight on Sunday. SHO Ashraf Qureshi said they had raided Chak 274 JB on a tip off about Rab Nawaz’s presence. He said Nawaz and his accomplice opened fire at the police team, adding that the shootout continued for two hours. Nawaz was killed while his accomplice managed to flee, the SHO said. He said Nawaz had been declared proclaimed offender after he fled from Chiniot police station lock-up where he was confined in a murder and robbery case. He was also wanted for several robberies in Thikri Wala area, SHO Qureshi added.
