Injuries plague Pakistan cricket

The cricket team is trying to improve its fielding standards ahead of the ICC World Twenty20 in the West Indies.


Waqar Younis, who is the new coach of the team, and the cricketers are going through physically demanding drills in a bid to improve their fielding.


But the challenging training at Lahore's National Cricket Academy is resulting in injuries to senior players.


Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi injured his finger last week and now pacer Umar Gul and all-rounders Fawad Alam and Yasir Arafat are also on the injured-list.


Gul, who is already struggling for form, has suffered a shoulder injury, Fawad has injured his hand while Arafat is carrying a calf injury.


Afridi, however, has said the injuries are not serious.
