Tension heated up yesterday when some members of the Punjabi Student Association tore off posters of the Peoples Student Federation, the student wing of Pakistan Peoples Party.
Today, the groups opened fire at each other in front of the Administration Block of the university in which four members of the PSF, including the group's president Muhammad Basharat, and two members of the PSA sustained injuries.
The classes have been suspended and the university gates have been sealed.
A heavy contingent of rangers and police has been deployed on the premises and interrogations are underway.
The police have started a baton charge on the officials of the two groups in order to control the situation.
Rangers have taken political activists from both the parties in custody and are likely to hand them to the Mobina Town police station after investigation.

old drama in campus when we get rid off
@Straight Fire: Every Pakistani is subset Human Being.
Every Muslim is subset of Human Being.
Not every Pakistani is Muslim.
Not every Muslim is a Pakistani.
Therefore, we are Human Beings before anything else. So yes, Religion is SECONDARY to all.
Not everyone's IQ is so low as to clearly rejects facts.
@babar khan: For millions of others, religion isn't a secondary thing as it is for you ... not everyone's soul is so dark who clearly rejects faith (by considering it a secondary entity)
How guns are being smuggled in Campus when Rangers are providing security (since last 15 years)?
I doubt any of those comments about Punjabi in minority are from someone who has lived in Karachi. Thankfully, it is only karachi, even with all the issues, most communities find job and education without discrimination, so stop spreading lies. Infact most of the police and many govt. employees are not from Karachi. When I say ppl from Karachi it included anyone which is actual resident, not only Sindi or urdu speaking. There is no disrimination in Universities, these ppl are not their to study, they have their own agenda.
@Zalaan: because this time APMSO was not the one
@N K:
We are humans first,pakistanis second and everything else,religion,race,language comes after that.
Not again guys!!!! Don't pollute your educational institutes again. Learn from the past. first you are muslims, then, Pakistani and then some kind of ethnicity.Your political parties are just using you for their own benefit. you'll be rotting in jails, or jeopardize your carriers for them who send their own kids abroad for PROPER education?????Com on GET Real!!!

Have you ever visited Karachi?
Good to see the exact names of the groups where were involved in fighting , in other news papers written "two groups " or " dou grohon kay dermiyan larai "
Ban FACEBOOK! (am I doing this right?)
Punjab University is ruled by Punjabis, now they also want to rule over Karachi university, is the Zia era again coming?
@saad behzad:
yes,but this has been happening in karachi for a long time now.if you don't have a strong party backing your community,then you are bound to suffer.karachi is a place where your voice only matters if you have street strength.the punjabis don't have enough population to be strong in any way in karachi,so they continue to suffer as they're a minority.
@saad behzad: have u read the whole news or just pasted the comment blindly???
it's sad to see the ethnic cleansing of a minority in sindh.punjabis are a small minority in karachi and they are being persecuted because of racist hate towards them.
