KARACHI:

Residents of Neelam Colony held a demonstration on Wednesday over the Clifton police’s failure to arrest the culprits involved in the murder of a pickup driver.

Police officials said that the driver, Nasir Khan, was wounded in a scuffle with Jumma Khan and his relatives over a parking issue on January 20. Nasir succumbed to his injuries in a hospital five days later. Nasir’s family then negotiated with Jumma Khan and his relatives, proposing a sum of Rs700,000 as blood money.

However, according to SHO Amir Altaf, the situation spiraled out of control and Nasir’s brother, Nadir Khan, came under attack. Following the latest altercation, Nasir’s widow, five children and other family members along with neighours besieged the Clifton police station and demanded the arrest of people involved.
