New ventures: KESC signs development agreement

Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) signed an agreement with Bright Eagle Enterprises-Hong Kong.

KARACHI: Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) signed an agreement with Bright Eagle Enterprises-Hong Kong (BEE-HK), for converting the Bin Qasim Power Plant to a coal-fired generation plant. BEE-HK is an investment company sponsored by Chinese and Korean investors. It has teamed with China Resources Power and China National Technical Import and Export Corporation for the project. The chief of KESC, Tabish Gauhar, said that conversion to coal was the only sustainable option and the company’s lead in the area will set an example for others to emulate.
