An exciting line-up of designers, some of whom are familiar faces at Colombo Fashion Week’s earlier editions — Bibi Russell, Rizwan Beyg, Samant Chauhan, Manoviraj Khosla and Agatha Ruiz De La Prada will be seen alongside some debutants at the Colombo Fashion Week.

Pakistani designer Beyg made his debut at the Colombo Fashion Week in 2010 and following a successful run that year, the designer went on to present his collection in 2011 as well. Last year, the designer brought the house down with his eastern collection and according to dailymirror.lk, the peak of the show was when Beyg displayed his “breathtaking collection” in magenta pink, lemon green, indigo, orange, yellow and royal blue pishwas-like kameez, ponchos and overcoats.

This year, he will present his collection along with fresh designers Pepa Pombo from Colombia, James Ferriera from India, Gaetanno Navara from Italy and Jason and Anshu from India, who are renowned for their talent in design work in their respective countries.

Pepa Pombo

Pombo, from Latin America, is a specialist in knitting — mainly embroidery by hand. Her garments are popular for their distinction and modernity. Her work has revived art and communities while creating cutting edge designs using ethnic inspirations.

James Ferriera

Ferriera’s style encompasses the neoclassic, fresh and contemporary. Using eastern techniques of drawstring and origami, Ferriera creates innovative and interesting silhouettes. He works primarily with natural fabrics and gives special attention to details such as hand embroidery.

Gaetanno Navara

Gaetano Navarra is an Italian fashion designer with a style that can be considered unpredictable and modern. Navarra represents trends of the new generations.
