In flames: Matchbox factory catches fire

The complainant estimated a loss of nearly Rs5 million in the fire.

HARIPUR: The warehouse of a matchbox factory caught fire on Thursday, burning down raw material and machinery worth millions of rupees. Sera-i-Saleh police quoted Muhammad Ashfaq, the production manager of the factory, as saying that the fire erupted when the workers were collecting raw material, which engulfed the entire warehouse in flames. Locals and firefighters rushed to the spot and extinguished the fire after two hours, saving the other parts of the factory from burning down. The complainant estimated a loss of nearly Rs5 million in the fire.
