Power Conservation: Drive to reduce line losses launched

AJK electricity department has launched a drive across Mirpur division.

MIRPUR: To reduce line losses and curb power pilferage, the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Electricity Department has launched a drive across Mirpur division.

While talking to the media, Chief Engineer Munir Qureshi, the divisional head of the department for South (comprising Mirpur division) said that officials have been directed to redress grievances pertaining to power supply. The field staff has been advised to cut connections of consumers found involved in power pilferage. Additionally, heavy penalty will be imposed on those violating the law. Meanwhile, another drive has been launched for the recovery of electricity revenue throughout Mirpur division to meet the stipulated target for the current fiscal year.
