Charlatans of free speech
.

Hillary Clinton appeared at a talk organised by the far right Israel Hayom magazine, which is sponsored by the Israeli American megadonor named Miriam Adelson. Among many other ridiculous arguments that she made, my favourite one was when she tried to make the point that young Americans were criticising Israel but they didn't know why they were doing so due to the effect of propaganda.
Well, truth be told, the twist is interesting because actually Americans, both young and old, have historically blindly supported Israel and they did not know why they did that. Their strongest rationale lies in religious tales, which basically goes something like this: the Holy Bible lays out that Israel be always protected. That word Israel in the Holy Bible is not actually talking about the current illegal state of Israel, which has been established with force over land that actually is Palestine.
But Hillary goes on in her tirade of the freedoms that social media provide. When TikTok came about and became popular, I confess I hated it. I ridiculed the people who consumed it. But since Israel's war of genocide that it launched in Gaza since late 2023, I realised that other mainstream social media platforms did not allow videos and voices that were critical of Israel or talked favourably about Palestine and Gaza. It was only TikTok that did not suppress any videos where one criticised Israel and spoke the truth about the genocide ongoing in Gaza, perpetrated by Israel. I was one of those that understood this nuance very early on and quickly embraced the short video platform.
Well, that may have changed too since Israel compelled the US government to arm-twist TikTok into being sold to the US. Anyway, I was not the only one who had realised the freedom of speech that TikTok provided. Apparently, the villains sitting in Israel and in Langley had also been watching very closely and it was actually them who were losing their minds due to the magic that the algorithm was doing in the service of truth telling.
Hillary argued that young Americans getting their information about Israeli atrocities in Gaza from TikTok was "a serious problem" for democracy. And she called people critical of Israel, particularly Muslims "the usual suspects". Well, first of all, the fact that the Israel controlled American politicians (the usual suspects) are whining about how TikTok or social media generally was creating awareness about Israeli terrorism and how that was resulting in creating an American citizenry that is not ready to blindly support the Zionist mad state, means that the platform is actually working.
She labeled TikTok videos showing Israeli terrorism and dead Gaza children as "pure propaganda" but somehow it was her who as a New York Senator had voted for the 2002 resolution to authorise President Bush to invade Iraq based on complete lies. The mainstream media told the American people at the time that Saddam possessed weapons of mass destruction and that he was linked to Al-Qaeda as well. Nothing was further from the truth. Somehow that doesn't pass her "pure propaganda" test. But when you think about it for 10 seconds, you can quickly connect the dots that she had been in bed with Israel and AIPAC from the get go and she has not left the bed to this day. It was Israel that wanted the US to invade Iraq. This had been a Zionist desire since the 90s, if not before.
When we lived in a world where information was controlled by the gatekeepers of publishers and broadcast newsrooms, somehow this phrase "pure propaganda" had never occurred to Hillary and her likes (the usual suspects). Any platform that allows people to participate and discuss things freely should be appreciated by any power system that advertises itself to be a supporter of free speech, especially for those whose views are not liked or agreed with. Anything shy of that makes such politicians nothing but mere charlatans of free speech.
