The Sindh Youth Council will set up volunteer tuition centres in neighbourhoods, committees for neighbourhood cleanups, IT training centres and free medical camps for the poor, said a press release issued on Sunday.
It also aims to discourage ‘copy culture’ in educational institutions and stress promotion and success through hard work. It will also foster the development of technical knowledge and education and encourage skill development..
The first meeting of the council was held at the office of The Sindh Telegraph where a large number of Sindhi youngsters turned up. The meeting was presided over by Aijaz Sindhi and was attended by Ameer Kolachi, Abdul Rauf Abro and Aftab Detho among others.
Participants unanimously elected Aijaz Sindhi as the first chairman of the council and Abdul Rauf Abro as the convener.
They authorised Aijaz Sindhi to work on building a website for the council and Abdul Rauf Abro to enroll new members and open chapters of the council in different parts of the city and throughout Sindh.
