QUETTA: A First Information Report (FIR) has been lodged against four officials of the Frontier Corps (FC) for allegedly killing a protestor and injuring to six others during demonstration held near Bakhtyarabad in Sibi last week to condemn the killing of wife and daughter of MPA Mir Bakhtyar Domki.

A score of people belonging to the Domki tribe were holding a protest demonstration on main highway near Nari River, blocking it for traffic. As a convoy of security forces tried to pass through that very section of the highway, they had to try and restore traffic. A quarrel developed between protestors and the security forces over the highway.

The FC had then indulged in intense firing, culminating in the death of one protester while six others were reportedly wounded.

According to Deputy Commissioner Sibi Shahid Saleem Qureshi, an FIR was lodged under section 324/34-302 against the personnel of Frontier Corps on the behalf of Imam Bakhsh, a relative of the victims.

Balochistan Levies is investigating the incident. No arrest has been made till this report was filed.

Correction: An earlier version of this article had incorrectly stated that both sides had resorted to firing, this is incorrect, only the FC had resorted to firing. The error is regretted.
