Javed is being considered for the position but a final decision has not yet been made, Emirates Cricket Board chief executive Dilawar Mani told The Express Tribune.
Nadeem Sarwar, Pakistan Cricket Board's General Manager for Media, denied the media reports about Aqib Javed's resignation and said that the PCB does not yet have any information on this.
“We haven’t been contacted by Aqib Javed and as far as the media reports are concerned, they’re all quoting unnamed sources.”
On Friday, UAE-based Gulf News newspaper had reported that Javed is likely take over as UAE cricket team’s new coach, in place of Kabir Khan who has resigned from the post to take a similar role with Afghanistan.
