Crime: Man arrested for wife’s murder

Doctors said Kareem Mai was dead when she was brought to the hospital.

BAHAWALPUR: A man, Jameel, was arrested by Uch Sharif police on Thursday on charges of killing his wife, Kareem Mai. SHO Jameel Ahmed said an FIR had been registered against him on a complaint filed by his father-in-law and the body sent for an autopsy. Doctors at the district headquarters hospital said Kareem Mai was dead when she was brought to the hospital. They said there were no wounds on the body and added that samples had been sent to a laboratory in Multan for chemical examination to ascertain the cause of death. Jameel rejected the allegations and said that his wife had died from cardiac arrest.
