MOU: Putting Punjab on Google Maps

William Fitzgerald of Google Asia called the agreement “a good beginning”.

LAHORE: Google Maps will feature the province’s archaeological heritage, a press release issued by DGPR said on Monday. A memorandum of understanding to this effect was signed between the Punjab government and Google at the Arfa Software Technology Park. Tourism Secretary Dr Allah Bakhsh Malik and Google Asia’s William Fitzgerald signed the document. The chief minister, who was present on the occasion, also asked Google to help the Punjab government with some of its projects including the computerisation of land record, Wi-Fi installation at Daanish schools and distribution of free-of-charge laptops. William Fitzgerald of Google Asia called the agreement “a good beginning”.
