SUKKUR:

The partial remains of seven-year-old Salman Khokhar, son of Ghulam Mustafa Khokar, were found Saturday dumped near the Waleed mohalla police station. Salman had gone missing Friday evening.

According to reports, Salman was playing outside his house just before he went missing. Ghulam Khokar, an employee of the municipal administration in Larkana, informed the area police after failing to locate his son with friends and relatives.

On Saturday, the police were alerted to a suspicious-looking plastic bag lying on top of a heap of garbage, which was later found to contain the boy’s head. Police are now trying to find the rest of his body.

A police team under Larkana SSP Aitizaz Goraya raided the village of Gadani and arrested three suspects, including SI Deedar Khokhar, Aamir Khokhar and an unnamed person. However, no case had been registered against the three till the filing of this report.

According to sources, after a family scuffle, Ghulam Mustafa Khokhar murdered six-year-old Mujahid and eight-year-old Lakhmir, sons of his cousins Shabbir Khokhar and Bashir Khokhar in 2003. Shabbir Khokhar is the president of Pakistan Peoples Party union council in Dhamra, while Bashir Khokhar is an assistant manager at the Larkana branch of National Bank of Pakistan. Ghulam Khokhar was convicted and sent to central jail in Larkana, where he served for more than five years, and only recently got out on bail.
