Port Qasim failed to build on a shock win over Wapda as they crashed to a 4-1 loss to SSGC in the National Hockey Championship yesterday.

SSGC drew first blood in the 10th minute through Shakeel Abbasi. Shabbir Ahmed Khan and Zeeshan Bukhari added a goal each before half-time, while Arslan Haider’s 58th minute strike sealed the win. Port Qasim’s only consolation came through Azlan Ali’s goal in the 68th minute.

Meanwhile, Umar Bhutta’s hat-trick failed to save NBP from a 4-3 defeat against Army.

Bhutta gave NBP an early lead which Habibur Rehman cancelled out in the 23rd minute. However, Bhutta struck again 10 minutes later, only to see Army draw level again through Muhammad Kashif. Muhammad Imran’s brace then sealed the win.

PIA defeated PAF 5-2 to stay top of the table.
