Political activities banned in LDA-run education institutions

Stern action will be taken against those guilty of indiscipline.

LAHORE: Director General Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Abdul Jabbar Shaheen has imposed a ban on political activities in educational institutions run by the LDA, under Clause 3(H) of The Punjab Industrial Relations Act 2010.

All academic as well as administrative staff is directed to refrain from participating in any activity that pertains to formation of union or any other action related to it including becoming an office bearer, casting a vote in the referendum, holding meetings or bringing out processions, etc.

This step was taken to ensure uninterrupted educational activities in the institutions, besides promoting an environment conducive for this purpose.

Every staff member could, however, contact the Director Administration, Director Education or Deputy Director Education of LDA, through proper channel in case a problem arises.

Failure to comply with these instructions will invoke action against the official concerned, under Punjab Employees Efficiency and Discipline Act 2006 and stern action will be taken against those guilty of indiscipline.
