KARACHI:

We are unhappy with the Pakistan Peoples Party, said former party activist, Maher Muhammad Brohi while speaking at a press conference on Thursday.

“This is why we are joining Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf.” He added the people of Lyari were suffering because of their elected representatives. Brohi and others activists of PPP’s district south announced that they had joined the PTI and were welcomed by the party’s Karachi president Ashraf Qureshi.

“They don’t have basic facilities like gas, even though they have had a major role in making Karachi,” he said while talking about problems faced by the residents of Lyari.

He added that he shared PTI chief Imran Khan’s vision and hoped that he won’t ignore Lyari when he came into power. According to Qureshi, a lot of people were joining the party because they shared Imran Khan’s vision. He criticised the recent wave of target killings and the price hikes.

Qasim | 12 years ago | Reply Though I'm a PTI supporter but i like Muhammad Imran's comment above! Yeah Imran Khan is new and he should get a chance but dont ever depend on any politician! Remember u cant bring change untill u get urself changed so vote for Imran Khan but dont give him a free hand and just be prepared to tackle wid any weird situation. What if Imran Khan doesnt change anything and becomes a part of the same filthy politics. I dont really know about pakistan's political history but as i see PPP has failed, PMLN wont b able to tackle wid the conditions nowadays! MQM is I can say a terrorist party! I seen how they actually run their bussiness! And other parties who can bring change... No one can bring change but only PTI can! vote for PTI!

@ Imran Muhammad, I agree critisizing Imran Khan "Unabashedly" wont do anything, but do remember praising him as a savior and and not taking any criticism, will do you, your party and country a great harm. We are seeing a repeat of history, we should learn from history, this IK phenomenon is very similar to the bhutto phenomena, (except the east Pakistan issue). According to me Bhutto was a complete failure as a prime minister and leader of the country. People were crazy about bhutto like people are crazy bout IK right now. i.e. criticism equals shirk. All the traditional politicians joined forces and surrounded him, disconnecting him from genuine people, and showing him a false reality. Bhuttos focus was on international politics while his good for nothing goons turned the most industrialized(maybe second to Japan) country of Asia into corrupt mafia controlled. His govt destroyed the bussiness community of country by Communism, taking over all bussines and education (destroying the education system of the country along with the economy). And he was shown a picture perfect Pakistan by Cahoneys who surrounded him. It felt realy heartning to see Imran Khan in Karachi Jalsa with the two lotas on his both sides, and the original workers of the party after them. You have to call a spade a spade, Imran Khan intentions might be good but he is making picture perfect same mistakes that bhutto did, and hoping for a different result. Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Albert Einstein
