KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) central information secretary Shafqat Mehmood has issued a statement on Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (Fazl) chief Fazlur Rehman's allegations against the PTI.

The statement claims that PTI's popularity "has unnerved many but none more so than the chameleon of Pakistani politics Maulana Fazalur Rehman."

Mehmood has accused Rehman of "crossing all  limits of political decency" by accusing the PTI of being supported by the establishment, CIA and the Jewish lobby.

Mehmood also notes that people like Rehman have "forgotten their  own past record" including the JUI-F allegedly asking then-US ambassador to help him become prime minister or his support of former president General (retd) Pervez Musharraf. The PTI statement reads: "Due to these services to the establishment he got allotted large tracts of land to himself and his family in Dera Ismail Khan. So, who has a history of supporting the establishment? Maulana Fazalur Rehman or Imran Khan?"

PTI has asked Rehman to look at his own deeds before accusing others.
