At least three people were killed in separate acts of violence in different parts of the city on Wednesday.
The authorities claim that one of them was a target killing while the other two were personal enmities. A man identified as 28-year-old Tahir Hussain was shot dead near Peoples Football Stadium in Lyari, said the Kalri police. The police claim that it was a target killing. Hussain was shot on the head while he was on his way to the fishery and died on the spot. They added that the suspects managed to escape. He was from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and lived in Agra Taj Colony. The police were unable to ascertain the motive behind the murder and registered FIR no. 21/12 on a complaint by Hussain’s brother-in-law Hazrat Shah.
In Khokhrapar no. 4, a man identified as Hassan Buksh, 51, was gunned down, said the Khokhrapar police. They said that he was working in his shop when he was shot in the heart. The police claim that Buksh was killed over personal enmity and have arrested a suspect identified as Asif Hanif. The body was taken to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre. Buksh used to work as a mechanic and leaves behind seven children. A barber identified as 24-year-old Irfan was killed outside his shop in North Nazimabad Block N, said the Taimoria police. SHO Kamal Naseem said that the suspect, Usman, had stabbed Irfan. The police claimed to have arrested the suspect. They claim that Usman killed Irfan on the pretext of karo kari as he suspected that Irfan was in a relationship with his wife.
