OKARA:

Four people were shot dead and several deprived of cash and valuables in the city on Wednesday.

Police said Tanveer Ahmad and his wife, Sajda Bibi, were shot dead by unidentified people in their house in Cantonment while they were asleep. Nothing was missing from their house leading to the speculation that the couple was killed over an enmity, police said.

In another incident, Tariq, a resident of Subhan Shah Town, was killed along with his employee, Pervaiz Ahmad, over an old enmity. Police said that Ashiq Shah, Malangi and Altaf Shah allegedly shot them, killing them on the spot.

Armed men took away Rs4 million from a United Bank Limited Branch after holding the employees and customers hostage.  Elsewhere, masked men entered Imran Ashraf’s shop in Ghala Mandi and took away two mobile phones and Rs60,000.
