A two-member bench of the Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Tuesday ordered the regularisation of 273 contractual female teachers and 200 support staff of the Frontier Education Foundation (FEF).
Should I order NAB to investigate the FEF?” PHC Chief Justice Dost Muhammad Khan questioned the counsel.
However, the FEF’s counsel, Fawad Saleh, told The Express Tribune that PHC was not authorised to order the regularisation of its employees as FEF is an autonomous body and has its own board of directors.
He added the decision contradicts article 240 of the constitution as the teachers are not government employees and have signed contracts spelling out terms of employment.
