
A man’s nose, ears and fingers were cut off allegedly by his former employer’s son who had reportedly suspected him of having an affair with his wife.
Muhammad Tanveer, resident of Kohal Khurd, was allegedly attacked by Ahmad Yar and his sons Shabbir Ahmad and Bismillah on Rajana Road. Tanveer was driving a rickshaw – an employment he had taken up after he was sacked from his driving job at Allah Yar’s household. Allah Yar’s family had suspected Tanveer of having an affair with Shabbir’s wife. The injured man was taken first to Pir Mehal tehsil headquarters (THQ) hospital and later to Toba Tek Singh district headquarters (DHQ) hospital. Dr Muhammad Aslam who treated Tanveer at the DHQ hospital said while his condition was out of danger he would need plastic surgery to restore his features. Pir Mehal police station house officer Haji Adalat said the police had not been approached with a complaint. However, he said, raids had been carried out for Allah Yar and others suspect’s arrests following media report.
