The Hollywood star, 59, having recently filmed in Turkey became fascinated with Islam during his stay.
Speaking to The Sun, he said, "The call to prayer happens five times a day and for the first week it drives you crazy, and then it just gets into your spirit and it's the most beautiful, beautiful thing.
"There are 4,000 mosques in the city. Some are just stunning and it really makes me think about becoming a Muslim."
Neeson was raised in Northern Ireland as a Catholic alter boy and was named after his local priest.
But the star - whose wife, Natasha Richardson, died aged 45 in a skiing accident in 2009 - says his faith has been challenged in recent times.
On his Catholic beliefs, he said: "I was reared a Catholic but I think every day we ask ourselves, not consciously, what are we doing on this planet? What's it all about?
"I'm constantly reading books on God or the absence of God and atheism."

While criticizing PAKISTAN, most of the people are swayed by media giving and working out on creating perceptions against this country.
My one simple question to all, "Just collect the statistics of India & Pakistan on just following two subjects since independence-1947 :
Assault on minorities and based on their beliefs/ religion in both countries Number of people Killed in the name of Religion, Cast, Ethnicity basisI wish people come to Pakistan and see with their own eyes, the love for peace & tranquility, affection for all and humane nature of the masses (no less than any other civilized nation in the world) despite being unjustifiably/ unthankfully bashed and bullied by more the friends than the foes!
Regarding Liam Neeson considering to convert to Islam, is absolutely one individual's personal decision and we being Muslims believe in "Absolutely no compulsion in religion what so ever" (as states Quran). So embracing for Islam or not is ones personal decision and everyone has his own reasons for making choice(s).
Well, if some people (Muslims in particular) do something otherwise, is totally against Islamic conjunctions.

He should visit Pakistan and Afghanistan before he decides to convert. In the most places Islam is not followed in the relatively liberal and 'live and let live' environment of Turkey. Perhaps Liam would change his mind after living in Kandahar or Jhang for a few weeks?

When people speak of "all religions" they tend to speak mostly of semitic/middle-eastern religions - Islam, Christianity, and Judaism. Even those three differ considerably in the extent and the manner in which they promote evangelizing/dawah. Overall, the world's 'religions' can differ on that dimension as significantly as night differs from day. Abid is simply being a good Muslim as he sees it and millions of Muslims around the world see and have always seen it.

I cannot understand how one could ever leave the Eucharist. If you really knew who it is that you are giving up, you would never consider it an option. There are many problems in the Catholic Church, yes. But these problems are all of them miniscule when compared with the MAJOR problem of every other religion in the world - none of them have Jesus in the Eucharist. None of them have a relationship with God quite like ours.
Read the early Church Fathers, read the lives of the Saints... just because you were raised culturally Catholic doesn't mean you've been exposed to the true richness that is the Church. If you like the frequency of Islamic prayer, perhaps you should consider praying the Liturgy of Hours, the Divine Office. There is such a depth and richness in the Church, and I will be praying - and offering many sacrifices - that your eyes may be opened to the sheer beauty that God gives us through His gift of the Church.

We can be liberals, Islamics or whatever, but let's first get things right.
Abid is simply following his Islamic obligation to carry out dawah. In the Quran, Allah does not forbid dawah to non-Muslims. What Allah tells Muslims is that if Non-Muslims try to do similar dawah to free you of Islam, then you should tell them that they can go their way, while you will go your (Islamic) way. Ways of non-Muslims are terrible, say Allah to Muslims, and will surely lead them to all sorts of problems and punishments.
If that is true, then Abid is doing antanu g a favor by inviting him to Islam.

Most likely, we make a big mistake when we believe that people who take the approach that antanu g has taken are found in Pakistan alone. We should start being careful that they exist in India too, probably in very large numbers. Some of them I know personally. They are a great danger to anyone who does not wish to submit to foolishness.
