Karak Education: K-P govt approves land for university

Chief Minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti has approved the provision of land for a university in Karak.

PESHAWAR: Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Chief Minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti has approved the provision of land for a university in Karak, urging the federal government to allot funds for implementing this project. He made the decision while chairing a high-level meeting at his office on Monday. Matters pertaining to both the establishment of a sub-campus of Kohat University of Science and Technology (KUST) and a completely separate university were discussed in detail. The second one was approved by the meeting, keeping in retrospect the demand of people of the area. Speaking on the occasion, Hoti said that the government was following a policy of extending higher education facilities to the marginalised sections of the populace. He assured provision of land for establishment of the university coupled with undertaking required legislation in this connection.
