Ijaz told NDTV that nothing can stop him from coming to the country and added that he will bring his BlackBerry devices and make them available to the Commission probing the scandal.
“I am coming. I am going to tell the truth. I am going to put the truth on the record forcefully, and I am going to make sure that the people of Pakistan, finally, are able to hold their government accountable for the actions that they take in their name.”
On Interior Minister Rehman Malik’s warning of arresting Ijaz on his return, Ijaz said that Malik does not even know the facts and had been sending out “veiled threats” to him through different statements.
“Rehman Malik is someone I believe, who is prone to make statements of such exaggeration, that he doesn't even understand what the facts are,” he added.
Ijaz further added that his stance on Pakistan’s army and the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) has not changed over the past years.
When asked if he would arrive in Pakistan before January 26, Ijaz said it was fair to assume that.
Government forms committee for Mansoor Ijaz’s security
A committee has been formed by the federal government to provide high level security to Mansoor Ijaz when he arrives in Pakistan next week, Express News reported on Saturday.
Ijaz, the central character in the Memogate case, has been summoned by the judicial commission investigating the memo scandal on Jan 24, and before the Parliamentary Commission on National Security (PCNS) on Jan 26.
Sources confirmed that Mansoor's whereabouts will be kept secret upon his arrival in Pakistan and the government has decided to formalise a proper plan to protect him.
It hasn't been divulged which city Mansoor will arrive in but sources have confirmed that the provincial government of which ever city Mansoor stays in will provide him with the utmost protection.

Why does he want to come to Pakistan? To uncover more filth in an already filthy country?
@adeel759: No one is trying to let down any one. It is a straight case of treason against the country which must be investigated. If Zardari/ Haqqani are not involved then why are they creating hurdlesin his way. Let the Army provide him security according to his satisfaction so that he does not find an excuse to stay away.

Mansoor Ijaz's past reputation or his personal life is irrelevant at this stage. What is relevant, however, is that this man is bringing along some very valuable evidence against a few involved in this treasonous conspiracy against our state. He is being discouraged and obstructed by certain quarters that are most probably guilty of committing this crime. Lets not jump to conclusions and let the Judicial Commission do its job. One thing is certain though, the truth will come out this time and all those involved will be sent to the gallows.

Why HH was in contact with this man and why all of a suuden he turned against HH and his Boss? I think some kind of business deal went wrong and this man is taking revenge from HH and his Boss.
@asma@london: He is not just an American citizen. He is rich and has relationships with more than a dozen secret organizations of various countries. He is hungry for fame and is willing to do anything to make a buck or become infamous. There are too many foreigners of Pakistani origin who have been working hard, sending money to Pakistan and play by the rules but none of them gotten any importance like this dubious double agent and his diatribe against Pakistan. Remember he has been summoned by the court as an important witness in a high profile case of a treasonous memorandum. It is the duty of the court to provide protection and security to Mansoor Ijaz(The prime witness) according to his satisfaction.

Mansoor Ijaz got the importance because our former Ambassador gave him the important job. Zardari and company including Rehman Malik and now Aitezaz including will not let this man enter Pakistan.and in this effort America will help them. They will scare him to death.

It's obvious where his new found confidence and courage come from. The Army/ISI need this man to come out of this without looking foolish at this point. I'll put money on him completely not offering to comment on the things he said about the Army/ISI if it's even asked.
