ISLAMABAD:
To add hue to the grey winter, three artists have whipped up a new recipe for the art enthusiasts of the capital. A showcase depicts oil on canvas by Mansoor Rahi and Raja Changez Sultan as well as water colour on paper by Hajra Mansoor here at Gallery Louvre.
As Former Director General of the National Council of the Arts, Sultan’s art has a universal appeal, a phenomenon witnessed in numerous of his exhibitions in Pakistan and abroad.
At the gallery, his collection displays the Himalayan Odyssey series and The Divided Self, an exciting journey into the intricacies of form and colour. The oil on canvas with hues of blue depicts a sense of melancholic beauty.
Meanwhile Rahi’s paintings boast of his signature style. While a horse portrays beauty, a bull stands for power and strength. These paintings not only create a mood of exploration but also denote free expression with spontaneous use of brush strokes.
Hajra’s work outlines a peaceful haven to break away from the mundanity of everyday life. Those familiar with her work will connect with the water colour on paper of a woman attired in pink, relaxing with her long ornamented hands placed gracefully and depicting feminine beauty at its best.
