Missing work: Health official suspended

On finding a vaccinator and a health worker missing from BHU, the two had gone to the field for vaccination.

KHANEWAL: Khanewal district coordination officer Rashid Mehmood on Thursday suspended a communicable disease control supervisor, Mukhtar Ahmad, for missing work without permission. He issued the order during a visit to a basic health unit in Chak 44/15-L. The DCO earlier visited a BHU in Chak 50/15-L. He examined the attendance register to ensure that the staff was present. On finding a vaccinator and a health worker missing from the BHU, he was informed that the two had gone to the field for vaccination. DCO Mehmood later verified the claim from the lumberdar. He was told that a post of medical officer was lying vacant at BHU Chak 50/15-L. He directed EDO (health) Dr Rafi to address the complaints of the staff at the two BHUs. Earlier, Medical officer Dr Saima Salimee briefed the DCO about the problems at the health units.
