MULTAN: Senior politician and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Makhdoom Javed Hashmi said on Wednesday that his party will be like a “rope around corrupt politicians’ neck.”

Speaking to the media in Multan at an honourary dinner organised by the PTI for journalists, Hashmi said that the nature of politics is changing in Pakistan and old political leaders have no understanding of it.

“People of Pakistan have declared PTI as the only chance of survival,” he added.

Government and NRO

Hashmi accused the government of calling parliament supreme on one hand and ignoring its decision against the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) on the other hand.

“Government had brought NRO to the parliament from the Supreme Court (SC) just to legalise their corruption,” he said.

The PTI leader reiterated that the government should obey SC orders and respect the supremacy of law.

Hashmi also alleged that Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani was using parliament to protect himself from the corruption charges but “he will fail because the entire nation was standing with the SC."

“Even resigning from his post would not get him out of this situation,” he added.

Hashmi said that the current standoff between institutions is a result of disobedience on the government’s part and refusal to uphold the constitution.

By-elections

Talking about the upcoming by-elections, the PTI leader said that his party would not contest because “fake voters’ list will be used in these elections.”

“We need transparent elections with a genuine voters list,” he said.

dear ones. the Pakistan is under the siege for the last two decades and every thing like the strong institutions are on earth now. what we need is some true honest people to set the parameters for the growth of the institution and it will certainly take time but if the people of Pakistan assured once that their future and country are in safe hand then certainly the intensity of the crises will be low, to achieve the goals we all should at least reject the political parties the slogan of whom deceive us and when they form the govt them they act like the kings of dark ages, sham for every Pakistani that the land cruiser of gilani in which he appears in the court got fake no. plate and we still believe that he will change the fate of the nation. President Asif Ali Zardari in previous year bought a house in England costing 20 arab rupees. and I did not see anywhere that he donate 100000 Rupees for the flood effecties or for idps. dear all the people of pakistan will have to take some evolutionary steps to bound the rulers to work for the betterment of the Pakistan and if one cant delever then we should sack all the looters by our vote.

How do you know he has no foreign bank account and has not gained wealth through corrupt means? What took him so long to realize that Shariff brothers are crooks ? Why do you not ask me about my facts about the Shariff brothers? JH is just another unprincipled Pakistani politician who smelled power in PTI and ran to it. Meanwhile, you are living in fool's paradise, if you think that IK has a Midas touch that will solve Pakistan's problems. As I said, be prepared to be disappointed. Unless you come back with "facts," this is my last post on the subject. I do thank you for your time and interest, though. God bless you, and may God bless Pakistan.
