LAHORE:

Additional District and Sessions Judge Chaudhry Aurangzeb on Monday granted pre-arrest bail to Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) chairman Zahid Bashir in a petition accusing him of issuing threats to an employee for her refusal to malign a former chairman of the society.

Bashir was granted bail against surety bonds worth Rs50,000 and a guarantee by singer Warris Baig.

The judge, meanwhile, summoned Bashir and the complainant, Nausheen Naeem, an accounts manager and finance secretary at the PRCS, along with the case record for January 24.

Bashir said that he had been falsely implicated because he had taken action against the complaint on embezzlement charges. He said he had suspended Nausheen Naeem and referred her case to the Federal Investigation Agency.
