Talking to the media at Sukkur airport, Khan said the government came into power through NRO and tried to hide its theft of billions of rupees. “The Supreme Court has issued contempt of court notice to the prime minister, because he did not fulfill his responsibilities.”
Khan stated that only the Constitution is supreme and not the parliament. “If the parliament starts providing justice, then the courts should be shut down… Parliament has its own responsibilities, the courts have their own,” he said.
Reiterating his party’s support for the judiciary, Khan said that PTI is standing with the chief justice and the Supreme Court.
Khan also dispelled rumours about forming an alliance with former dictator Pervaiz Musharraf’s party All Pakistan Muslim League (APML). “We are not ready for any alliances,” he stated.
The party chairman also said that the only way to bring the country out of the “quicksand” was by holding early elections.

zardari is not be no thief. zardari is be good man.bilalwal is be good man also.
where is mr khans policies???
@Farz: sorry mate have to disagree with u there.. if there was no NRO there would be no PPP or shall i say zardari and no PML nawaz, NRO should be abolished for this country to stand a chance this cancer of NRO is killing the country and this is a gateway the corrupt have negotiated in the name of democracy, this gate should be broken to stop the corrupt and trecherous governments! plus NRO is a violation of the constitution.
If Imran Khan is so sure of coming to power, he should wait for the democratic process to be completed. The problem with Pakistan has been the use of shortcuts, whether for assuming power or for kicking the incumbent out of it.
In the face of a coup the opposition should be uniting with the incumbent. Pakistan can not bear with another illegal government take over.
Well said khan sahib. We are with you.
Why Imran Khan is letting corrupt “spent fuel” leaders ride the crest of his Tsunami wave?
@Dr. Asad Sadick, Germany: Allow me to respectfully correct you Sir (I'm not being sarcastic, I really respect doctors whether PhD or MD or MBBS). Most of the people criticizing here are not the supporters of Zardari or IK haters; infant it's the other way around) but like all professional conduct rules) I believe its about "conduct unbecoming" of a potentionally great leader.
Democracy takes the longest time to find roots. Imraan Khan has to find patience. If elected as the majority party. He will be in a similar position challenged by the political class for ineptness.
What surprises me is that there are still people out there who talk in support of Zardari and the present set up. People please wake up. Imran is the only plausible option.
“If the parliament starts providing justice, then the courts should be shut down… Parliament has its own responsibilities, the courts have their own,”
This is fact.
@Xoya: Forget about Musharaf. He is the one who had passed the shameful NRO which not only gave back to Zardari his ill gotten money but also gave him a clean chit to be eligible for the Presidential slot. Today our country is in a miserable condition because Musharaf entered into a deal with Benazir through the Americans and brought all the corrupt politicians back to Pakistan.
Why doesnt Imran Khan talk about the army's role in destroying institutions and creating inefficiencies?
correctly said by Captain. the parliament is to legislate not to provide justice. Judiciary has to interpret and its a watchdog of the law. the executives are to implement. If this happens, in future, coming PMs would seek justice from the parliament if he is convicted in any case. In short, We have different laws for different levels of the society.
@Pakistani and Proud: Haha. Like leader like followers!. You guys share the same dictionary of abusive words. I won't retort back in the same language. Go ahead call came names. Stretch the moderators flexibly to the limit.
@Khawlah: Firstly, Zardari does't represent people of Pakistan. How come someone can claim to be true representative of people of Pakistan, when more than half the votes in voting lists are bogus. Secondly, PPP's government is trying hard to become again political martyer in the eyes of people of Pakistan. I slute Pak Army to show utmost patient against Gillani's provocative behavor. In the entire world, the rule of land (Constitution) is supreme, but in the eyes of corrupt PPP leadwrship a corrupt parliment is supereme. In USA, Obama is not above the law, and in Pakistan entire corrupt parliment is above the law. Let PPP complete its disguting term, and safe democracy in Pakistan. PPP is goal is Army' takeover. Again thank you COAS for protecting democracy in Pakistan. Pak Army saving democracy is amazing...
Those who took oath under PCO 1999 of course were being true to their responsibilities.
Get Zardari out of Pakistan Get Imran
To the idiots critizing Imran Khan - you are deluded. What he said about Zardari is true, why are you attacking him for it? Why, Zaradri is not a corrupt thief? Is that what you mean to say?
Vote for Imran if you want a real leader who will care about YOU and not money.
mr khan you are becoming a true politician now You are using gutter language elections are m not won by this behaviour we now find it dificult to distinguish between you and the people's you call thieves
The US gave Pakistan close to $20 Billion during the Musharraf era. Where did all that money go? Why wasn't IK criticizing Mush then? Oh wait, i remember now, he was head cheerleader for the dictator.
@Khawlah: Yeah sixty year old angry young man. They say here in the west, maturity doesn't come with age.
Pathetic choice of words by someone who claims to be on a higher moral ground. Ive been wishing him to be the next chief executive; not anymore. I know who cares what I wish but numbers do add up. This cricketer dude lost my respect.
We want to recover all the money and assets of mine i.e. the Money of Nation,from the culprits.we wait for this champ;
100000 % percent right Khan...now you are on the track....please continue to track them down. Everyone knows and is sure. What are you saying, but it needs courage...just ignore Nawaz Sharif, they are much much better than these ppp and their allies?
@Khawlah: Any sensible man will become ANGRY YOUNG MAN in such a situation. What should we call a thief, if not thief ?
exactly" biggest thief” looter, plunder who has destroyed Pakistan!
The biggest luxury one can get by being honest in his entire life is bravery and fearless behavior while making comments about a person or situation. Only a few politicians in Pakistan can do it. What IK has said is the voice of Pakistan so well done IK for speaking the emotions of people. This parliament and premier personnel of the Govt can't even retaliate on him because they dont have anything in their sleeves also being corrupt what u loose is respect and ability to watch in eyes of opponent. Mr zardari and Gillani should have known it. All pakistan need is this fearless and aggressive tune to sort out the issues. And only someone credible like IK can do it.
hello ET - i would like to request via this facility that your "notify me of followup commments" be modified to be in line with those of other newspapers internationally and indeed websites such as youtube. where ONLY reponses and replies to one's posts are forwarded to the commentor and not all posts . PLease consider ? thanks in advance.
@ A Ali, I bet that you will loose bet.
Since 15 years all cases against Zardari remained open in courts and they did not proved any allegations, Why not too much fuss on NRO? Because of short term memory loss problem its very difficult NOW for Pakistani nation to understand that it was the NRO, democracy came after Martial Law, Election held and CJ released from House arrest and resumed to his JOB. Why people are forgetting this simple truth?
@karachi: here comes the racist remark, how can ET even publish a remark like this guy's?
When this "biggest thief" was going through a democratic process to become our elected President, you boycotted the process and sat home. Did he give you, your share of loot to keep quiet? How can we trust you that again you will not do the same? Actually you haven't changed. Many old thieves are joining your party and you are watching silently to take control of your party.
@Much Amused: sir ji why dont u understand it was TAKE-TURN politics in pakistan. u r not a brand new born child... u know what was going on in pakistan and without a HINT of doubt Nawaz Sharif was the next to be prime minister (n pml n forming a coalaition governnt)... now its PTI in the between Nawaz and Zardari..and i ask u this ... if Zardari case is not geniune in Switzerland then why on earth would Switzerland arrest their OWN citizen involved in that case? why on earth would they FREEZE the accounts without doing their OWN research? isn't it enough to show that Zardari is a theif??? baat to sach hay magar baat hay ruswayi ki..
Khan! you are accusing and in Pakistan, this perhaps is the best way to do politics. But you should bear one thing in your mind, you wont be acceptable for the people, (on the shoulders of whom you dreams to come in to power) once you step in to the PM house and starts acting like a Chief Executive of the country. Khan (the naive politician)! Do stand behind both the chiefs (Gowned and Uniformed) but first convince them to hear your veteran party member's petition. It's a litmus test for both and you as well...
ET must stop taking stands with politicians. ET appears pro Imran Khan and my statement has been blocked from posting. & this is not the first time.
I believe IK`s statement is in bad taste. How can IK call an elected President a "Biggest Thief". It was IK who didnt stand for election last time. Whose fault was that? Secondly, there is no reason to make statements Personal. There is no difference between other politicians and IK. All are the same.
IK, i truly feel for you when you speak the truth and the socalled intelligent people on here cannot even acknowledge the mega corruption scams that have been raised under zardari, im with you and fully support you.............!
A politician is saying that parliament is not supreme!
like ETA supporting IK? any neutral comment isn't posted about him?
khan stop talking against someone just keep concentrate on your program.........let's see how could you change the fate of this people.......never no one can......every citizen is corrupt......huh
^ and i thought it was democracy, one clause of which proclaims freedom of speech. The same democracy for which every government official is seeking self-proclaimed martyrdom.
Every one is a thief except Mr. Dim.
He is the biggest thief but Nawaz Shareef is my target
@Much Amused: If that was not true then all of Pakistan would have been sued by Asif Ali Zardari :)
@Khawlah: For God sake.Pls wake up pbefore its gets too late we already on the edge of survival. This is the time for the sinner to be punnished. Khan is the only man who is calling thief " BIGGEST THEIF ". atleast some the in the country is there who is fighting alone. Lonf live the khan
I agree with Imran Khan... but will he bring the culprits to justice or let them go free like the others ???? This i really want to see...
There is nothing wrong in IK statement. PPP has a long history of corruption whenever they have come to power. Time has come to get rid of these culprits forever Insha'Allah.
@Much Amused: Zardari wont do it, because he has no courage to do this..you know why? because he is culprit..if you really want to putt a defamation case then tackle with other millions of people who believes he is biggest thief
The black sheep in your ranks and files, Mr. Khan, will sink your ship, sooner or later. Mark my words, sir!
I AGREE . we want Imran & Mushraff together . they Both will bring up our lost respect . & our lives back to Peace .
Everyone calls Zardari the 'biggest thief' wherever you go. In streets, parks, offices and roads, markets. There is nothing new or cheap in what he has said. A man earns respect through his actions and not by his status and positions and sadly Zardari (as expected) has failed miserably in that regard.
Khan has correctly identified the real thief and I tend to agree with him 100%
@karachi: Khan, please do not let Musharaf get near you otherwise you will be doomed.
Khan sahab NRO was NOT the reason PPP and PML-N came into power. NRO was NOT the reason people voted for them. The President was elected by parliament without any opposition.
Your party and others are equally responsible for boycotting elections and letting them govern over Pakistan.
Calling the representative of the people of Pakistan a "biggest thief" is a very insane & cheap comment by a politician. This man is the only politician who is against politician. Is there anyone there to educate this angry young man?
Khan said that PTI is standing with the chief justice and the Supreme Court and We are standing with you, keep it up IK.
Its very easy to critisize President after knowing President no longer can continue to hold President's post. @IK, you could have critised him long back when you were on negotiating table with President.
Waiting for TSUNAMI MARCH to get started.
Eye-opener statement indeed... Yawns
I bet PTI is the next ruling party in PAKISTAN
We are with you Kaptan, you are the only hope of this nation.
