LAHORE:

Inspector General of Police (IG) Javed Iqbal suspended Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Qila Deedar Singh Sheikh Javed for his involvement in harassment of a company owner by misusing his authority.

The complainant, Khalida Parveen, submitted an application to the IGP, complaining that the DSP filed seven fake First Information Reports against her and her family members.

Parveen also claimed that the DSP concerned was supporting her uncle, who intends to take over her profitable business.

The IGP had immediately appointed DIG Mubasharullah as an inquiry officer in the case.

According to the fact finding report, the DSP was found guilty as charged.

The IGP suspended the DSP and ordered him to report to the police headquarters with immediate affect.
