Crime: 19 robberies reported in a day

Valuables including gold jewellery worth hundreds of thousands of rupees were taken away from citizens in 19 robberies in the city on Wednesday night and Thursday.


Two motorcyclists snatched Rs250,000 and a cell phone from Naveed Shehzad near Thandi Khoi in Civil Line police station precincts.

In another incident, Rs15,000 gold jewellery, cell phones and other valuables were taken away from the house of Ashraf in Gobendpura; worth Rs79,000 from the house of Amjad in Mohallah Sharifpura; eight-tola gold jewellery, Rs50,000, 40 dresses, a motorcycle and a camera from the house of Ali Ahmad in B-Block and cash and gold jewellery from the house of Muhammad Yahya in Ali Housing Colony.

Faisal near United Bank Limited Samanabad branch; Adil Nazeer near Dakkan Park, Imran Nazeer near Chak 215-RB, Sajid Ali near Street No3 on Sargodha Road, Shahid Imran near The University of Faisalabad (Madina University), Aamir Shehzad near Mohallah Ghaziabad and Khalid Mehmood near Chak No.190-RB were each deprived of a motorcycle by armed robbers.

In other street crime incidents in the city, Khalilur Rehman was deprived of cash and a cell phone near Chak 65-JB, Nauman Bashir near Umar Town, Ramazan near Chak 214-RB, Iqbal in Chak 38-GB, Khalid in Mohallah Farooqabad and Mubasshar’s sister of her earrings in Shehbaz Garden.
