TAXILA: The Taxila police on Monday foiled a bid to smuggle heroin from Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa to Punjab. However, the occupant of the vehicle managed to escape, police sources said. Acting on intelligence information, the police stopped a pick-up (IDS-7960) near Phulra Top. Upon searching the pick-up, they found about 100kg of heroin in hidden compartments in the vehicle. The police impounded the pick-up and seized the contraband. “We are investigating the case,” said a police official.
