Contempt of Court: Okara DCO given 2 weeks to respond

Court order to take action against a Health Department superintendent found guilty of corruption.

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Tuesday gave the Okara district coordination officer two weeks to respond to a contempt of court petition filed by four district government officials. The petitioners had requested the court to take notice of DCO Saif Anjum’s failure to follow a two-month-old court order requiring him to take action against a Health Department superintendent found guilty of corruption in a departmental inquiry. Muhammad Akram and others said the inquiry had recommended termination of Superintendent Abdul Hameed Shad.
