Pakistan envoy to present credentials to State Department on Tuesday

WASHINGTON: The US Under Secretary for Political Affairs Wendy Sherman at the US State Department will be accepting Sherry Rehman's credentials as Pakistan's next ambassador to the US.

According to the State Department, the ceremony will take place in a closed press ceremony at the Department of State office in Washington.

Rehman, who arrived in the US capital on Saturday, will be presenting her credentials to the State Department and the US President to be accepted formally before she can officially begin her duties as Pakistan's ambassador to the United States.

Rehman scheduled to meet President Barack Obama to present her credentials on January 18 along with a host of other ambassadors.
