According to reports, Chadhar, a prominent businessman and member of the Jhang Chamber of Commerce and Industry, was entering a mosque to offer prayers when two assailants on a bike opened fire at him, killing him on the spot.
Talking to The Express Tribune, Station House Officer (SHO) of Kotwalia police station, Malik Khizer Hayat said that the motive for the attack could not be immediately ascertained.
Chadhar’s body had been shifted to the Civil Hospital where a large crowd had gathered.
District police officer Rao Abdul Karim had also reached the hospital along with a police squad.
The police had cordoned off all entry and exit points to the area, to stop the assailants from escaping.
SHO Hayat said that Chadhar's family had yet to register a First Information Report (FIR), as they were waiting for the deceased's brother, Gul Shair Chadhar to return from Lahore, who would register a case after consultations.
Gul Shair, also a PML-N member, was former party president of District Jhang.
Talking to The Express Tribune, locals said that Chadhar did not have a personal enmity with anyone.
The businessman was also known for his welfare work in the area.

I've an interesting update on this case and recommend to share it all over the media for the sake of his family......
According to the lates news I've heard. His killers are behind the bars and it was not a political murder. It was really shocking for me to hear that killers were his from family members, two sons of his elder brother (his name is mentioned at the end of report) plus elder son of his sister and one hired outsider to back them up. They have accepted the murder and are being guilty for their act. His three nepews opened fire at him causimg instant death. They killed him cold blooded in front of his owm Masjed while third was on watch. Involvement of Mr. Chadhar's elder brother might be possible due to property issue.
Correct reason of murder has not been disclosed yet.
