Electricity: Hesco faces 33% shortfall

HYDERABAD: Hyderabad Electric Supply Company is facing a shortfall of 33% or 200MWas supply is 400MW against total demand of 600MW, said Chief Executive Officer Muzaffar Ali Abbasi on Friday. An amount of Rs31 billion is outstanding against public and private consumers which included Rs21 billion against government departments and Rs10 billion against private consumers, Abbasi said while talking to journalists. The power distribution company’s management is making all out efforts to recover the huge outstanding dues from defaulters and also initiated steps to control the line losses, he said.
