Attack on home: Senior ANP office bearer killed

Saeed Ahmed Khan was shot dead, central executive committee member Bashir Ahmed Khan Advocate was injured

The Awami National Party’s district west president Saeed Ahmed Khan was shot dead while the party’s central executive committee member Bashir Ahmed Khan Advocate was injured when unidentified men barged into their house in SITE on Thursday evening.


DIG West Imran Yaqoob said that a policeman identified as Aurangzeb was with Saeed Ahmed Khan when the incident took place and killed one of the attackers in an exchange of gunfire. He also managed to injure another man.

The suspect’s identity was not disclosed when this report was filed.

The party’s Sindh chapter general secretary Bashir Jam said that Khan died on his way to the Aga Khan University Hospital. He added that the CEC member was injured.

DIG Yaqoob said that a terrorist could be responsible for the attack. He added that they could not be sure till the investigation was carried out.

Khan was the ANP’s district west president for five years. He was from Swat
and leaves behind three daughters, two sons and a widow.
