Judge hands life sentence to accused in bizarre murder case

The accused Zeeshan was also fined Rs50,000 for his friend's murder.

LAHORE: An Additional District & Sessions Judge Muhammad Javaid ul Hassan Chishti on Monday awarded life imprisonment to an accused in a murder case.

According to reports the victim, Naveed had lended a pistol to his friend Zeeshan, the accused, at his shop on August 18, 2007 at Nilla Gumbad. After a while when Naveed came back for his pistol, Zeeshan tried to return the pistol placed at a height on a shelf, by using a stool, but lost his balance and resultantly fell down which triggered off the loaded pistol and hitting Naveed which caused his instant death.

The old Anarkali police had arrested Zeeshan and registered an FIR against him.

During the sentencing today, the judge also fined the convict Rs50,000, the non-payment of which will result in Zeeshan undergoing six more months of detention.
