Cricket: Multan trounce Quetta in U-23 game

Defeated Quetta by 10 wickets on the final day of a Pool A match at the Three-Day Inter-Region under-23 tournament.

LAHORE: Multan defeated Quetta by 10 wickets on the final day of a Pool A match at the Three-Day Inter-Region under-23 tournament yesterday. Quetta, resuming on their overnight score of 139 for five, were bowled out for 221. Multan comfortably chased down the 44-run target inside 10 overs. In another Pool A match, Sialkot drew with Faisalabad after the latter were 204 for six at close chasing 357. Meanwhile, in Pool B, Rawalpindi and Abbottabad’s game finished in a stalemate, with Abbottabad managing 137 for six at close in pursuit of 305. Elsewhere, Islamabad also salvaged a draw – albeit narrowly – having been reduced to 76 for six at stumps in pursuit of a 172-run target set by Lahore.
