‘Raped by policemen’: Medical examination sought

LAHORE:

Judicial Magistrate Rana Sajid Safdar on Saturday directed Kot Khwaja Saeed Hospital administration to conduct medical examination of a 21-year-old woman, allegedly raped by two policemen in Misri Shah.

On Thursday, the victim had filed a petition through her counsel, Advocate Sardar Aftab Ahmed Virk, seeking directions to a hospital for her medical examination. She told the court that on December 20, Assistant Sub Inspector Farooq Dogar along with five police officials raided her house, while her husband was away. She said that the police did not give her any reason for the raid. She said she was forcibly taken to the police station and dragged to the basement, where two inebriated policemen raped her over two days.

She said a bailiff had recovered her from police custody on December 22 and produced her before Judge Rana Zahid Iqbal Khan, where she filed a petition seeking directions for the police to register a case. She requested the court to issue directions to a hospital for her medical examination and order the police to arrest the accused.
