Petitioner Dost Muhammad Khosa contended in his petition that Sapna Khan was being held by Missal Khan who had earlier filed a case against, alleging that Khosa had kidnapped and murdered Sapna Khan.
Khosa implored the court that Missal Khan was out to malign him, and for this had embarked on a character assassination campaign against Khosa to damage his repute. Khosa further contended that Missal Khan had produced a forged identity card before the court to prove that he was Sapna Khan’s true father.
On the other hand, Missal Khan’s counsel told the court that Dost Muhammad Khosa had killed Sapna Khan after abducting her. He prayed the court that Missal Khan was Sapna Khan’s actual father and the counter-case was a tactic to delay the matter.
After hearing arguments from both sides, the judge directed the petitioner to approach the concerned SHO and to record his version. The SHO was further directed to investigate the matter if cognisable offence came to the surface. The judge also directed the SHO to proceed in accordance with the law if claims of the petitioner were found out to be false.
