LAHORE: A scene was created at the sessions court lawyers’ chambers on Friday after a woman and a lawyer got into an argument, followed by a fight.

Some lawyers said that they heard loud arguments being exchanged between Advocate Tariq Sulaiman and Humaira Naeem, a petitioner in a cheque theft case.

They said the argument soon led to a fight between the two followed by slaps and blows. The fight continued for a while, when they were finally stopped by some lawyers from adjacent chambers. The lawyers said that the two also used derogatory language for each other. Naeem had filed a case against Huma Noor, allegedly involved in stealing the petitioner’s signed cheque. On Friday, Noor’s pre-arrest bail was dismissed by a sessions court judge. After that Naeem went to Advocate Sulaiman’s chamber, counsel for the respondent in the case, to stop him from filing an appeal in LHC for his client’s bail, which he refused. This led to an argument between the two, followed by a fight. Talking to The Tribune, Advocate Sulaiman said that Naeem had allegedly threatened him with dire consequences if he did not withdraw his client’s case.

“Is this the way a woman behaves?” he asked. Advocate Sulaiman has filed a complaint with Deputy Superintendent of Police Shakeel Khokhar, seeking registration of a case against Naeem.

People are not ready to believe what the lawyer said. They are experts in manipulation, lies, adjournments, conspiracy with opposite litigants.
