Women across the world get more pleasure when buying a handbag than any other item, says a British survey. The thrill is more than when buying shoes, jewellery or underwear.
One in four women in Britain said they felt a “more intense sense of happiness” having paid for a smart bag. A summer dress, a well-fitting pair of jeans, beauty products, a little black dress and chocolates also made it to the list by shopping website Saveme4later.com.
“Everyone knows that women love shopping but it’s interesting to see what items women get the most pleasure from buying,” spokesman Dermot Dennehy was quoted as saying by the Daily Express.

Exactly right. Bags all the way! Chocolates make it second to me.
I can quite understand the pleasure of the British females in buying bags as I believe in the cold weather and rain one can hardly afford to wear fancy heels unless its time to party. The utter pleasure in purchasing comes with VIbrant leather totes/ Hobos that are not only easily wearable but also add such a FANTASTIC feel to the otherwise standard look of coats n boots.
Well this is my personal opinion based on the life during Academic years spent in London, where being a Textile student the fashion scene and public behaviour was observed very closely.
Well, I am myself a girl and based on what I have observed from my fellow gender is that they get more excited and are more pleased when they buy shoes.
....talk about generalisation !!
Women are women and eventually they love shopping. Thts the best way of getting rid of all the depression and tension we face and dont utter a word abt it.
I think this would not be at par with our woman's thought if we consider the socio-economic & socio-religous challenges they face here. I would like to see the list of their priorities from female commentators here.
