Police highhandedness: Christian colony residents protest

FAISALABAD: Dozens of residents of Christian Town staged a protest against Gulberg police on Sunday for trespassing the house of a resident. The protesters gathered on Narwala Road after the police allegedly forced into Younus Masih’s house to search for liquor stock with a warrant. Police said they were informed that Younis had stocked liquor bottles at his house. The protesters said that the police misbehaved with their women. They blocked the road by burning tyres. Traffic remained suspended for several hours. DSP Chaudhry Ashiq Jatt assured the protesters that action would be taken against the officials involved in the raid.
