According to the police, Medina Colony resident Amna Bibi was at home when her husband Ashiq Hussain entered the house and asked for food.
“He had returned after two days and there had been no food in his absence as there was no money,” Amna said, adding that she had borrowed some food from a neighbor a day ago to feed herself.
“I told him that I couldn’t serve him anything because there was nothing in the house and the next moment he came at me with a broken bottle,” she said.
Amna had asked Hussain for money to buy food from the market and this sent him into a rage.
Hussain struck Amna with a broken bottle and as a result of the attack her head split open. Amna was taken to the local Tehsil Headquarters Hospital (THQ) where her wounds were stitched up.
One of the doctor’s on duty informed the police of the incident and Amna told police officials from the Tarand police to register a case against her husband.
